The firm was founded in 1957 by Leslie L. Appelt, and to reflect the active participation of its principals, it has undergone several name changes over the years.  In 1994, the principals elected to join Colliers International as a shareholder firm.   The firm became known as Colliers Appelt Womack, Inc. to reflect this new relationship.  In 2000, the name change to Colliers International better reflected the evolution of the company, which became part of a worldwide, global network.  It currently serves as the only Colliers International office representing the Houston area.
