GFI Colliers is a Hong Kong property derivatives joint venture between Colliers International and GFI Group Inc (www.gfigroup.com). GFI Group is a leading inter-dealer broker specializing in over-the-counter derivative products and related securities. The venture provides broking services to banks, funds and property companies. A Hong Kong residential property index, created by Professor K W Chau of University of Hong Kong’s Real Estate and Construction Department and based on repeat sales, supports the market.

Name and Description of the Indices:
HKU-REIS The property index series will be named The University of Hong Kong Real Estate Index Series (HKU-REIS). Initially, the index series will provide four indices, covering all of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories residential price transactions.
HKU-ARPI The University of Hong Kong All Residential Price Index (HKU-ARPI) is a monthly real estate price index that tracks the changes in the general price level of residential properties in Hong Kong over time. The index is constructed based on actual transactions registered with the Hong Kong SAR Government (the Land Registry). The index covers the entire Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and is a value weighted average of sub-indices for three sub-regions in Hong Kong, namely Hong Kong Island, the Kowloon Peninsula and the New Territories. The weights reflect the market value of the total stock of residential units in each of the three sub-regions. The index is a constant quality index that is designed to capture only changes in price levels over time.
HKU-HRPI, HKU-KRPI and HKU-NRPI These sub-indices cover the three sub-regions in Hong Kong, namely Hong Kong Island (HKU-HRPI), the Kowloon Peninsula (HKU-KRPI) and the New Territories (HKU-NRPI). The indices reflect the market value of the total stock of residential units in each of these three sub-regions. The index is a constant quality index that is designed to capture only changes in price levels over time.
