Arbor Court Celebrates Arbor Day
Internal Press Release, 2008-04-25
by Colliers Ostendorf-Morris

Cleveland, Ohio

April 25, 2008 - CLEVELAND, OH When Warren Morris, President & CEO of Colliers Ostendorf-Morris, and Gary Kohn, owner of GSK, Inc., decided to partner on the development of Class A office space in Solon, they wanted to name the project something that held importance in their lives. As nature lovers and business leaders that understand the importance of ‘going green’ they decided on the moniker Arbor Court.

In 1993 when Arbor Court was built, both Morris and Kohn saw the value in adding green space and ample landscaping to their property. “Landscaping is expensive, so often is the first thing to go in a project budget,” says Morris. “We were committed to dramatic landscaping from the beginning, and saw the building surroundings as an investment not an expense.”

It was this frame of mind that drove Gary Kohn to implement an event that would expose the community to the importance of conservation. Appropriately, on Arbor Day (April 25
th
) the owners of Arbor Court are partnering with students of Solon High School to plant four new trees at Solon Community Park.

“We are excited to spearhead a project that will have lasting benefits to the community as well as the environment” says Kohn.

In addition to Colliers Ostendorf-Morris, GSK, Inc. and the Solon High School Students, Forest City Tree Protection Company will be in attendance. Mr. Lauren Lanphear of Forest City Tree Protection offered his expertise as to the appropriate type of tree and the planting recommendations necessary for the trees to flourish. Solon’s Mayor, Kevin Patton, also made a welcome appearance to show his support.

Solon Community Park was chosen as the location because it offers the right conditions and setting to ensure the trees survival and enjoyment in an area that benefits the entire community “It is our hope that each year this event will continue to involve more students in more Northeast Ohio communities,” adds Kohn. “It is our job as responsible corporate citizens to instill the significance of giving back to Mother Nature.”
